At this lunch, Mr. Paul Guest, Head of Research & Strategy of LaSalle Investment Management Asia Pacific presented the results of the eighth edition of JLL's bi-annual Global Real Estate Transparency Index.

The Index is a biennial survey that quantifies the level of real estate market transparency across 102 countries worldwide, from highly transparent markets of North America, Europe and Australasia to the opaque frontier markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Index recognized by the property industry as the global benchmark of real estate transparency and provides investors and corporate occupiers with an invaluable tool for assessing the risks associated with transacting, owning and leasing real estate in a foreign market. The Index forms part of many companies' location, investment and portfolio strategies.
 
Following Paul's presentation, Alan Dalgleish, Chief Executive of ANREV gave us an overview of the new INREV Guidelines which was launched at INREV Conference in April. ANREV is now working to promulgate these Guidelines in Asia Pacific.

INREV's industry guidelines provide fund managers and institutional investors with an integrated set of principles, guidelines and recommendations for governance and information provision in relation to non-listed real estate vehicles.
