Overseas Real Estate Investment Trends 2013

26 Sep 2013 @ Seoul

Korean institutional investors have increased their outbound real estate investment aggressively in 2013, buying $5 billion of commercial property outside of Korea the first five months of the year - more than the past two full years combined, according to a recent study by Jones Lang LaSalle.

Korean institutional investors have been primarily interested in direct real estate investment in major gateway cities including London. Frankfurt and others, either outright or in a joint venture. Their search for yield, however, is pushing Korean institutions towards developed markets, but tier II cities. In addition, given the difficulties involved with sourcing direct investments there seems to be a trend again towards real estate funds. This breakfast briefing session will discuss the recent trends in terms of markets, structures and issues facing the Korean institutional community in 2013.

This event was well attended by ANREV members and prospect, for details of future Korea events please contact Ms. Eunjin Choi at [email protected].
