Speakers’ bio followed:
 
  Kai-Niklas Schneider, Singapore, Clifford Chance
 
Kai is the managing partner of the Singapore office and head of the Funds and Investment Management group in Singapore. He is a US-qualified lawyer with over 18 years of specialist experience in the funds sector and advises clients on the formation of and investment in a wide variety of private funds. Kai is a member of the Advocacy Subcommittee of the Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (SVCA) and the Singapore Regulatory Committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA).
 
  Matt Feldmann, Hong Kong, Clifford Chance
 
Matt is a partner in the Funds and Investment Management Group in Hong Kong and co-heads the Firm’s Asian Real Estate Sector. He has been in Hong Kong since 1998 and is experience in all types of private funds formation work (including hedge, private equity, real estate, mezzanine, and infrastructure funds), and advises on financial regulatory matters. Matt is fluent in English, French and German. He is a member of ANREV’s Professional Standards Committee and chairs ANREV’s Regulatory Sub-Committee.
 
  Jefferey D. LeMaster, New York, Clifford Chance
 
Jeff LeMaster's practice focuses primarily on hedge funds, private equity funds and closed-end investment companies. His experience is predominately related to investment management, with a particular focus on the U.S. Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the U.S. Securities Act of 1933 and the U.S. Investment Company Act of 1940.  His work has included the formation of U.S. registered investment companies and exchange-traded funds.   Additionally, Jeff has advised sponsors of domestic and offshore private equity and hedge funds on a wide array of organizational and regulatory issues, including aspects related to investment adviser registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
 
  Simon Crown, London, Clifford Chance
Simon is a partner in the Financial Regulation group. Simon specialises in financial regulation, with particular focus on funds and asset management and M&A involving financial institutions. Simon also has expertise in the areas of regulatory capital, client assets, transaction services (such as the regulation of payments) and European Directives relating to financial services. Simon is a leading adviser on the impact of Brexit on financial services.
 
  Paul Van den Abeele, Luxembourg, Clifford Chance
 
Paul Van den Abeele is a partner in the Luxembourg Funds and Investment Management group. He specialises in international fund structuring, focusing on alternative strategies. He advises financial institutions, investment firms and asset managers across Europe, the US and Asia in relation to legal and regulatory matters of the structuring, implementation, management and servicing of investment funds, with a particular emphasis on real estate, private equity, infrastructure and debt funds. He was named among 'the 30 most influential private equity lawyers under the age of 40' by private funds magazine.
 
  Kane Barnett, Sydney, Clifford Chance
 
Kane Barnett advises clients on private and public funds, capital partnering, mergers and acquisitions (including public takeovers and schemes of arrangement), fund raisings and restructures in Australia and Asia. He has particular experience in advising on listed REITs, and private real estate, infrastructure, private equity and hedge funds, investments by pension funds, and on accessing the Australian market generally. Kane has also assisted many clients with their Australian financial services regulatory regime.
