Koichiro Maeda

Koichiro (“Ko”) Maeda is a Managing Director, Portfolio Management, for Prudential Real Estate Investors Japan. Mr. Maeda has been with Prudential since May 2011 overseeing business development opportunities to further expand the portfolio management function locally. Maeda has more than 20 years experience in wide range of real estate practice.

Before joining Prudential, Mr. Maeda worked at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, where he was an executive director in the real estate investment banking unit. In this role, he was responsible for advising clients in the real estate sector on a range of issues including private fund formation and placement transactions for various fund managers and private cross-border M&A deals. He joined Morgan Stanley’s real estate investment banking group in 2003 and had been a member of the global private capital markets team – responsible for covering Asian institutional investors. He originally started his career at Mitsui Fudosan, the largest listed real estate developer in Japan, and was involved in real estate consulting and acquisitions for many large scale transaction opportunities. He was also a founding member of its real estate investment advisory unit, Mitsui Fudosan Investment Advisors, and worked with many local and international investors.

Mr. Maeda is a registered real estate broker. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Keio University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School and a Master of Arts degree in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts & Sciences.
