Charles Haase
Chief Executive

Charles Haase is Chief Executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles. ANREV is a member driven non-profit organization producing research and indices relevant to the private real estate industry in Asia Pacific, and promoting improved transparency and best practices across the region.

Prior to joining ANREV, Charlie had experience on both sides of the investment table, working for Aetos Japan and Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, and for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System in the United States. Prior to joining CalSTRS, Charlie was on the Economics faculty of San Francisco State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.

Collin Lau is the founder of BEI Group, which is an Asian-based global real estate and alternative investment and operating company. BEI has set up two operating platforms, in creative stay-work-play, and healthcare. BEI has created BEI Community, a revolutionary concept of urban mixed use in both Beijing and San Francisco. BEI is a founding shareholder and investor of Virtus Medical Group (www.virtusmedical.com).

Collin was previously a managing director, head of global real estate and head of European private equity at China Investment Corporation. Collin had over 32 years of corporate, financial and investment management experience. Before CIC, he had been a managing director at Starr International, where he was responsible for its private equity and real estate investments in Asia Pacific. Before Starr, Collin was a managing director at Baring Private Equity Asia. Prior to that, he held a number of managing positions in several leading conglomerates in Hong Kong.

Collin holds a Master of Laws degree with distinction in Corporate and Financial Law from the University of Hong Kong. He was voted as the Asia Industry Figure of the Year 2010 by PERE, one of the top 50 industry figures by Estate Gazette UK in 2010 and ranked 25th of the top 100 most influential global industry figures by PERE for the last decade (2005-2015) in 2015.

Yiwen Yang

Yiwen Yang serve in dual roles at Brookfield. She is the Head of China for Brookfield Property Group and President of Brookfield Properties in East Asia.

Yiwen joined Brookfield in 2016 and has since played a pivotal role in driving transformative transactions and successfully executing many repositioning efforts. Prior to joining the organization, Yiwen held various roles with CapitaLand, Tesco Property and AMP Capital where she gained experience in research, investment analysis, leasing, operations, and asset management.

Yiwen holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Her influence extends beyond the corporate sphere as she actively participates in the Property Council of East Asia and is a highly regarded member of the ULI Asia Pacific Product Council.

Alan Tan

Alan is responsible for leading CapitaLand Investment (CLI)'s global capital raising team and driving new initiatives across the private equity business. Prior to this, he served as Head of Strategic Partnerships at CapitaLand Development, where he was responsible for capital raising and leading new business initiatives. Before that, Alan was Vice President for Special Projects supporting the Group CEO of CLI, and worked at Morgan Stanley, CreditEase and Temasek Holdings in a variety of real estate fund management, investments, and capital raising roles.

Alan holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD Business School and a Bachelor of Accountancy (Double major in Banking & Finance) from Nanyang Technological University.

Co-founded by Mr Henry Cheng in 2003, Chongbang Group is an investor, developer and manager of retail-anchored mixed-use projects in Shanghai and major cities in the Yangtze River Delta. Its highly focused business strategy, holistic approach to property development and proven ability to compete on innovation and differentiation are well recognized by the industry and the investment community.

Since its inception, Chongbang has embarked on eight retail-anchored mixed-use projects, branded “Life Hubs”, meaning centres of living.

As of todate, five of the six projects in Shanghai have been completed, namely the 250,000 square meter Life Hub @ Daning, the 180,000 square meter Life Hub @ Jinqiao, the 80,000 square meter Sinan Mansions, the 190,000 square meter Life Hub @ Anting, and the 80,000 square meter Life Hub @ Upbund.  Phases 1 and 2 of the 800,000 square meter Life Hub @ Kunshan have been completed, and Phase 3 is under construction, while the 400,000 square meter Life Hub @ Hangzhou was completed in mid-2018. Commencing construction is the 400,000 square meter Life Hub @ Bund Central, located on Sichuan North Road, one of Shanghai’s three major commercial precincts.

Chongbang is currently embarking on phase 2 of its development, which continues to focus on the investment, development and management of retail-anchored mixed-use projects in Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and their neighbouring cities, with additional emphasis on culture, tourism, technology, ecology and the environment.

Mr Cheng has over 20 years of experience in real estate development in China.  Before co-founding Chongbang Group, Mr Cheng was Executive Director of Hongkong’s Shui On Group and Managing Director of Shui On Properties Limited.

Rui Hua Chang
Managing Director, Business Management and Investment

Ms. Chang Rui Hua has been appointed as Managing Director, Business Management and Investment, ESR Hong Kong since April 2023. She focuses on looking after our business in Hong Kong region, including our fund management arm and lead our China REIT initiatives and execution. Ms. Chang will also hold the concurrent role of Executive Director and Responsible Officer for ESR HK Asset Management Limited (the fund management arm for Hong Kong).

Ms. Chang was previously Group Head, Capital Markets and Investor Relations for the Group, managing capital and public market activities including strategic merger and acquisition investments at ESR group level; leads the Group’s investor relations function and provides insights on market developments.

Before joining ESR, Ms. Chang was with the CapitaLand Group for six years, where she was leading the Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Corporate Planning and fund raising in China; as well as the CapitaLand Group’s Investor Relations and Capital Markets Compliance based in Singapore. She was also a key member of the team that led the privatisation of CapitaMall Asia in 2014. Prior to that, Ms. Chang was an investment banker with China International Capital Corporation and DBS Bank Ltd from 2006 to 2013.

Ms. Chang holds a Masters’ in International Public Policy (Merit) from University College London, Department of Politics and a BSc in Social Science, Economics (2nd Upper Class Honors) from the National University of Singapore. She completed the Advanced Management Programme at Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. She is also a holder of the International Certificate of Investor Relations (ICIR) and Chartered Manager Fellow.

Chiang Ling Ng

As Co-Head of Investment Management, Chiang Ling is responsible for developing investment and fund strategies that align with Hines’ global investment approach. She is a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees.

Chiang Ling joined Hines in 2021 as Chief Investment Officer of Asia. Leveraging more than 25 years of investment expertise, Chiang Ling built a comprehensive, diversified strategy for Hines’ first pan-Asia core-plus fund and plays a key role in developing Hines’ discretionary fund business.

A deeply engaged investment industry participant, Chiang Ling currently serves as chairperson of the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV), which focuses on improving transparency and fostering best practices across the region for the private real estate industry.

Chiang Ling is also a passionate proponent of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In addition to leading the “OneHines Women’s Network” initiative in Asia, she dedicates significant time to mentoring the next generation of investment professionals and leaders within Hines and beyond.

Prior to joining Hines, Chiang Ling held leadership roles at M&G Real Estate Asia and the real estate private equity division of Goldman Sachs. She earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Princeton University and is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Japanese. Outside of work, Chiang Ling enjoys golf, swimming, and tennis.

Clare Chang

Clare is the Managing Director, Greater China, for IQ-EQ, a global operation specialist that provides investor solutions as well as middle and back-office support to fund managers, asset owners and corporations.

Clare began her career in funds with The Carlyle Group in Washington DC and was responsible for fund operation, investment structuring, internal procedure and investor relations for all European Buyout and Venture funds.  After relocating to Hong Kong, she took on the Head of Middle Office role at CDIB Capital, the private equity asset management arm of China Development Industrial Bank.  After CDIB, she also gained vast experience in operations, business development, strategic planning and management on the sell side.

Prior to joining IQ-EQ, Clare was an Executive Director for Fosun Group’s real estate arm, where she held various responsibilities over time, including fund management, acquisition, divestment, capital structuring, fundraising and investor relations.  After

Fosun, Clare moved from Shanghai to Hong Kong and looked after fundraising activities and investor relations as an Executive Director and Head of Capital Markets for special situation strategies for COS Capital, China Orient Asset Management’s real estate private equity fund manager.  

Clare holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Finance and Accounting, cum laude, from Georgetown University and a Master of Science in Finance from George Washington University.  She was also an exchange scholar focusing on International Finance and International Marketing at University of Oxford.

Gary Cai

Mr. Gary Cai is the Head of the KPMG China Economic Research Centre, also overseeing KPMG China corporate strategy and corporate development.

With nearly 20 years of experience in economic and industry research, corporate strategy consulting, and investment consulting, Mr. Cai has served numerous industry-leading companies and investment institutions across various sectors. He helps the company in conducting economic and industry analysis, developing overall strategies, identifying new business opportunities, creating market entry plans, and conducting research on investment and merger strategies.

Joseph Chien is Head of Private Real Estate in Asia, based in Singapore, He is a member of the Private Real Estate Direct Investment Committee, the Private Real Estate Partnership Investments Committee, and PG USA Investment Committee. He has 26 years of industry experience in Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Prior to joining Partners Group, he was a Managing Director at Blackstone Real Estate based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo, responsible for real estate acquisitions and initiatives in China and Japan. Before joining Blackstone, Joe was an Executive Director at GreenOak Real Estate Advisors in New York, where he focused on acquisitions in the U.S., Greater China, and India. He began his career in real estate in 1997 at Morgan Stanley in their real estate investing and mergers & acquisitions departments in New York and London. Suchad Chiaranussati

Mr. Chiaranussati has successfully led SC Capital Partners in its investments and provided key leadership and direction since its inception.

Prior to founding SC Capital Partners at the end of 2004, Mr. Chiaranussati spent approximately six years with Westbrook Partners, where he opened its Asia office in Singapore in early 1999 and served as Principal and Managing Director responsible for Asian investment activities. Prior to joining Westbrook, Mr. Chiaranussati spent seven years at JPMorgan, based in Singapore and covering Southeast Asia, serving as a Vice President in the Proprietary Investment and Investment Banking groups, focusing on real estate and financial institutions. Prior to JPMorgan, Mr. Chiaranussati worked at Temasek Holdings, an investment holding company for the Government of Singapore, and the Central Bank of Thailand. In 1998, Mr. Chiaranussati was appointed as an advisor by the Central Bank of Thailand and other bodies to assist in the restructuring of the public and private sectors of Thailand.

Mr. Chiaranussati received an Honors Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1986 and a Master of Science in Management Science at the Imperial College in London in 1987.

Damon Wang

Damon is Head of Asia-Pacific and Portfolio Manager in Heitman’s Public Real Estate Securities group and is based in Hong Kong. Damon heads the Asia-Pacific investment team and is responsible for portfolio management, including macro-economic, sector and company fundamental analysis. Prior to joining Heitman, Damon was a Senior Vice President at LaSalle Investment Management Securities in Hong Kong, responsible for analyzing and managing the Asia-Pacific public real estate securities.

Damon received a BBA in Accounting and Finance (1st Hons) from the HK Polytechnic University. He is a CFA and FRM charter holder and a member of the CFA Society Hong Kong.
