ANREV, in partnership with the NUS Institute of Real Estate & Urban Studies, is delighted to invite you to its 3rd Research Conference, to be held on 2 April in Singapore. This year's conference theme, "Asia Pacific Real Estate: Bridging Academia & Industry," will bring leading academics, industry research professionals, and experts in the region to delve into research insights in real estate investments, ESG (Sustainability & Diversity/Inclusion) and the latest strategies in commercial real estate investment. The conference will also address housing market dynamics, demographic shifts across varied generations, and other critical related topics.

Charles Haase became Chief Executive of ANREV in 2022. Before joining ANREV, Haase was responsible for global client relationship management with Aetos Japan, LLC. Prior to that he was with Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, working on overseas investments for Tokyu Land Corporation and on inbound investment for Tokyu Livable, Inc. Before coming to Tokyo, Haase was a real estate investment officer with the California State Teachers' Retirement System, and served on the economics faculty at San Francisco State University. Haase has a Ph.D. in economics from University of California at Davis.

Hanna Safdar is an Associate Director and Head of Research and Strategy for AEW's Asia Pacific Region where she supports both the direct and indirect investment teams in the region. Ms. Safdar has over ten years of real estate experience which she relies on to provide research and strategy support for all new and existing property investments. She joined AEW in 2018 from Cambridge Associates, where she conducted fund manager research and due diligence projects across Asia Pacific's real estate and infrastructure managers. Prior, she also held a research position at DTZ in Singapore. Ms. Safdar has a B.Sc Real Estate from the National University of Singapore.

Xian Yang is the Head of Research for Singapore and Southeast Asia at Cushman & Wakefield, where he leads a dynamic team in producing cutting-edge real estate and economic research, as well as strategic analysis.
Known for his research-based insights, Xian Yang enhances commercial leasing and investment processes, establishing himself as a prominent authority in the Singapore real estate market. His expertise is regularly featured in both local and international media.
Additionally, he provides consultancy services to clients including Real Estate Investment Trusts, property companies, investment funds, government agencies, and banks. With over 10 years of experience in real estate research, Xian Yang began his career at GIC, focusing on risk and performance for Fixed Income and Alternative Asset Classes.

Leslie Chua was Senior Vice President and Director of Asia Pacific Investment Research. He was responsible for all research and analysis in the Asia-Pacific region, including assisting with new acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management of properties. Additionally, he researches trends in macroeconomics, demographics, capital markets and property market fundamentals in order to identify relative value and shape investment strategies. Prior to joining Heitman, Leslie was a senior researcher and strategist at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (previously known as RREEF), a boutique Singapore-based real estate platform (Pacific Star), Standard Chartered Bank and at Jones Lang LaSalle. He has worked in Singapore and Tokyo, and speaks Mandarin. Leslie received a BA with Honors in Political Science and History from the University of Western Australia.

Leslie is an active commentator on real estate. He has extensive experience in real estate, finance and investment, having worked for property groups GuocoLand and The Link Reit, as well as financial institutions Goldman Sachs, UBS and N M Rothschild & Sons. His expertise straddles strategy, research, capital markets and investor relations.

On top of his role as Co-Director of IREUS, Joseph is also Professor of Real Estate at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore where he is serving as Programme Director of the Executive Certificate in Real Estate Finance (ECREF). Prof Ooi is also the Past President of the International Real Estate Society, which is a federation of six regional real estate academic societies.

Wenlan - who is Director of IREUS - is also a professor of finance and Ng Teng Fong Chair Professor in Real Estate at the NUS Business School. Holding a PhD in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, Prof Qian is also a fellow of esteemed institutions such as the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economics Research. Currently, she is an editor of Real Estate Economics and associate editor of Financial Management.

Kenneth is Managing Director, Head of Research & Strategy for Asia Pacific Real Estate at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. He is responsible for economic and real estate market research & forecast, as well as strategy formulation in Asia-Pacific real estate investment. Mr. Tsang sits on the Investment Committee of the APAC real estate business, a member of the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (ANREV) Research Committee, a member of MSCI/APREA Pan-Asia Quarterly Property Fund Index Advisory Panel, and a member of the Government and Research Committee of the China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce (CRECC). He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Real Estate and Construction Department of the University of Hong Kong. Kenneth has substantial experiences in direct real estate and listed real estate securities across major Asia Pacific markets. Prior to J.P.Morgan, Mr. Tsang held various senior research and strategy positions with Sanford C. Bernstein, LaSalle Investment Management, ING Real Estate and Jones Lang LaSalle. In his earlier stage of career, Kenneth was a corporate planner in Hysan Development and in quantity surveying for private and public construction projects.

Mr Tan Szue Hann, MBA is an award-winning architect, sustainability professional and strategist in sustainable development. Hann is Head of Sustainability and Deputy General Manager, Sustainable Urban Renewal at Keppel Land. He is also the Chairman of Sustainability at the Singapore Institute of Architects, the professional body for Architects in Singapore, and a member of the Integrated Development Committee at the Urban Land Institute. He has also been Director of Sustainability Development and Engineering at Marina Bay Sands, Managing Director of Miniwiz, and Head of Sustainability at Surbana Jurong. Hann graduated with an M Arch and BA Arch (First Class Honours) from NUS, with a visiting fellowship to UCLA in 2007, and obtained an MBA with Distinction in 2022.
Hann is also an appointed World Cities Summit Young Leader, and BCA Built Environment Young Leader, and was Singapore’s 2015-16 BCA-SGBC Young Green Architect of the Year. As a thought leader in ESG, he has spoken in numerous conferences including SWITCH, the UN Asia Pacific Urban Forum, and COP25 in Madrid. In 2021, he co-founded IxSA (Innovation x Sustainability Alliance), a global non-profit think tank with sustainability leaders, with the goal of creating and perpetuating a manifesto for good sustainability practices. His key skills are in stakeholder alignment in ESG, and translating sustainability goals into business value.

Regina is the Head of Property Research, Asia Pacific for M&G Real Estate. Prior to joining M&G she was the Head of strategic advisory, Asia Pacific capital markets in JLL, overseeing transaction intelligence, investment strategy and portfolio allocation. Prior to joining JLL, Regina was the Head of Singapore Equity Research and Head of ASEAN Property at Standard Chartered. She has over nine years of experience covering Singapore listed developers and SREITs at UBS and Standard Chartered. From 1998 to 2006, she worked for Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority, where she undertook property research, land sales policy and planning policy studies. Regina graduated from Oxford University with a Masters in Engineering, Economics and Management.

Cristian is an Associate Professor at the Department of Real Estate in the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, a Research Fellow of the Institute of Real Estate Studies, and a Network Associate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research, London. His research interests are in the areas of real estate finance, household finance and financial economics.

Mr. Minghang Yu is a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate from the Department of Real Estate, NUS Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests include urban planning and policy, public health, and transportation and travel behaviors. His current works focus on interactions between multiple urban built environment factors and people’s well-being outcomes, including (1) public space access and mental well-being of urban residents, as well as (2) urban land use planning and transportation equity, and (3) trade-offs in residential location choices and related outcomes for different resident cohorts. Prior to NUS, he received a Master of Urban Planning (MUP) from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Management Science in Public Administration from Zhejiang University.

Christine has more than 20 years of research & consultancy, property development, and marketing experience in the real estate industry and public sector. Having worked for a few leading developers and real estate agencies, she has garnered vast experience across the residential, commercial, hospitality and industrial sectors.
Christine holds a Master's degree specializing in research and management science conferred by NUS under a scholarship programme for top honours students. She was placed on the NUS Dean's List in the undergraduate studies.
With a strong marketing background and handled more than S$1 billion in property sales accounts, Christine's research work is highly market-relevant and consumer-centric. She has accomplished a number of creative and ground-breaking research pieces, including the study of HDB depreciating leases and million-dollar executive condominiums that have sparked nationwide conversation and policy changes.
Christine is a regular columnist with The Straits Times and is sought after by local and international media for her market views. Her analyses have been quoted by international media like Bloomberg, Reuters, BBC, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and local media like The Business Times, The Straits Times, CNA, Lianhe Zaobao, and Edgeprop and other global media platforms across Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, China and many parts of Asia.
Currently, she spearheads the company's business strategy and development initiatives as the Chief Researcher and Strategist. Christine works closely with the Board, CEOs and business unit heads to drive growth and profitability for the company by identifying trends and business opportunities in both local and overseas markets. She is also the REDAS Honorary Real Estate Advisor and contributed to her alma mater as a mentor to post-graduate students at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School.

Eric Li is Head of Research for PIMCO Prime Real Estate Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, he has been leading investment research for the firm since 2020. Prior to that, Eric was the Head of Greater China Research at ARA Asset Management, as well as Manager, Investment Research & Strategy at M&G Real Estate. Eric is also a member of the Research Committee for ANREV, and the Alternative Assets Council for ULI Asia Pacific.
Eric holds a PhD in Real Estate Finance & Economics from the National University of Singapore, a Master of Science in Real Estate from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Project Management from Shandong Jianzhu University (China).

Quan Rongxi is a fourth-year Ph.D. Candidate from the Department of Construction Management at the Tsinghua University, specializing in real estate. His research interests include urban land property rights, housing policy, and real estate market in China.

Chan Jun Yuan is a final-year Real Estate student at the National University of Singapore (NUS), specializing in Finance. He has gained internship experience in portfolio management and business development, focusing on market research, financial feasibility, and strategic investments. His interests lie in real estate finance, investment strategies, and asset management, particularly in the hospitality, senior living, and commercial sectors.
