The launch of our Investment Intentions Survey 2025 event was successfully held in Sydney on 11 March 2025.

The 2025 ANREV / INREV / PREA Investment Intentions survey covers allocations and investment intentions of major institutional investors and funds of funds managers. Charles Haase, ANREV's Chief Executive shared with us the key highlights of the survey. The event kicked off with a macro-update, followed by the presentation of survey results and a panel discussion.

Charles Haase
Chief Executive
ANREV

Charles Haase is Chief Executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles. ANREV is a member driven non-profit organization producing research and indices relevant to the private real estate industry in Asia Pacific, and promoting improved transparency and best practices across the region.

Prior to joining ANREV, Charlie had experience on both sides of the investment table, working for Aetos Japan and Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, and for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System in the United States. Prior to joining CalSTRS, Charlie was on the Economics faculty of San Francisco State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.

Sophia Woods
Senior Investment Analyst
Aware Super

Sophia is a Senior Investment Analyst in the Property team at Aware Super and is responsible for assessing and undertaking due diligence on new investments in Australia and globally as well as managing existing assets (across unlisted funds, co-investments and operating platforms) within the c.$10bn portfolio. As part of her role, Sophia sits on the Lendlease Australian Prime Property Fund (APPF) Commercial and GPT Wholesale Shopping Centre Fund IRC’s. Sophia joined Aware Super in January 2022, having spent 4 years at Stockland working across the research, strategy and M&A teams. Sophia holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney.

Sophia Rao
General Manager, Investor Relations
Dexus

Sophia Rao is the General Manager, Investor Relations for Dexus Funds Management, with broad responsibility for investor engagement and relationship management across Dexus’s existing institutional capital base.

With over 20 years’ experience in Finance and Investor Relations, Sophia commenced with Dexus in November 2010 and has held various roles within Dexus’s Corporate and Property Finance teams. Sophia joined the Dexus Funds Management team in May 2017 with the initial responsibility of Investor Relations Manager for Dexus’s flagship diversified unlisted fund, taking carriage of investor liaison for over 70 institutional investors. She has extensive experience in unlisted fund capital raisings and has played an instrumental role in delivering investor outcomes for several corporate mergers, transitions and integrations across Real Estate and Infrastructure unlisted funds.  

Prior to joining Dexus, Sophia worked at a chartered accounting practice with a focus on international construction clients and at Investa within the wholesale funds management team.

Sophia holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) with Merit from the University of New South Wales and is also a qualified member of CPA Australia, having been awarded state prizes for Business Strategy and Leadership courses. Sophia also holds a Diploma of Investor Relations from the Australasian Investor Relations Association (AIRA).

Callum Braham
Head of Asia-Pacific REITs
Macquarie

Callum is Head of Asia-Pacific REITs, rejoining Macquarie in 2024. He was previously at ASX listed A-REIT GPT Group over 2014-2024 with his most recent role Head of Strategy and Wholesale Capital. Callum worked at Macquarie previously in 2004-2014 and was the Head of Asia REIT Research based in Hong Kong in 2010-2013 and Head of Australia REIT Research in 2007-2010 based in Sydney. Prior to REIT research Callum has covered the transport, consumer & infrastructure sectors at Macquarie. Callum holds a Master's Degree in Commerce from University of New South Wales, a Master’s of Business Administration from University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor of Science from the Australian National University.

Alex Banzic
Head of Australia, Real Estate
M&G Investments

Alex Banzic is the Head of Real Estate, Australia at M&G Investments. Based in Sydney, he is responsible for leading the firm’s operations in Australia - driving strategic growth, overseeing the investment strategy and performance of M&G’s Australian real estate portfolio.

M&G Investments is part of M&G plc, a global asset manager with US$437.5 billion in assets under management (as at 30 June 2024). The firm has been investing in Australian real estate since 2006, with a portfolio spanning logistics, living, office, and retail sectors. It has continued to invest in build-to-rent and logistics projects in recent years, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable, high-quality real estate opportunities. M&G also invests through multi-manager mandates across real estate sectors within Australia.

Prior to his current role, Alex was Director of Asset Management for M&G Real Estate in Australia, where he played a key role in enhancing the performance of the firm’s real estate portfolio. His experience includes senior positions at DWS, KordaMentha, and EG Funds, with a background in real estate investment and asset management across multiple sectors.
