ANREV Investment Intentions Survey 2025 - Tokyo Launch Event

The 2025 ANREV / INREV / PREA Investment Intentions survey covers allocations and investment intentions of major institutional investors and funds of funds managers. Charles Haase, ANREV's Chief Executive, will share with us the key highlights of the survey, followed by a panel discussion.
The survey highlights and panel discussion will be followed by a presentation on the current economic environment by an economist.
The events will conclude with networking drinks.

Speakers
Charles Haase is Chief Executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles. ANREV is a member driven non-profit organization producing research and indices relevant to the private real estate industry in Asia Pacific, and promoting improved transparency and best practices across the region.
Prior to joining ANREV, Charlie had experience on both sides of the investment table, working for Aetos Japan and Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, and for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System in the United States. Prior to joining CalSTRS, Charlie was on the Economics faculty of San Francisco State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.
Laurent is currently Head of Asia-Pacific, Real Estate at AXA IM Alts. He is responsible for all operations in the Asia-Pacific region, including overseeing investment, asset management and capital raising activities from the offices in Japan, South Korea and Australia. Laurent is a member of the Real Estate Management Board. Laurent was also appointed President and CEO of AXA Investment Managers Japan in June 2022 in addition to his current role as Head of APAC, Real Estate, AXA IM Alts.
Laurent joined AXA IM Real Assets in 2001 as Corporate Finance Manager in Paris. Between 2006 and 2010 he was Head of Corporate Finance UK, before becoming Global Head of Corporate Finance. He was most recently European Head of Transactions. Laurent began his career at Ernst & Young working in both Paris and Brussels.
Laurent has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry.
Laurent graduated with a Master’s degree from EDHEC, the French business school.
Mari joined the firm as Head of Research & Consulting for Japan in October 2021. Previously, she was Vice President, Global Research & Strategy at LaSalle Investment Management. In this role she was responsible for formulating investment strategy and updating local market views through internal research reports and investor presentations customized to an investment mandate, for institutional funds. Mari has over 25 years’ experience in servicing global institutional investors as an equity, credit, and institutional property investment research analyst at leading financial institutions, including PIMCO, Citigroup and UBS. She has been acknowledged for the accuracy of her equity research, covering both the Japanese financial services and real estate sectors. As a credit analyst at Moody’s, she led the credit rating processes for sub-sovereign entities and government related entities in Japan.
Mari received a Master of Business Administration in Finance from UCLA Anderson School of Business and holds a Bachelor of Laws from Keio University. She started her career as a Certified Public Accountant covering U.S. tax schemes for Japanese investors in the late 1990s.

Joel H. Rothstein is an international real estate and structured finance lawyer and Chair of the Asia Real Estate Practice of the global law firm of Greenberg Traurig LLP. He advises investment banks, financial institutions, private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, real estate developers, and investors across all major Asia markets with a focus on Japan, Greater China, and South Korea. He also leads the firm’s practice in advising Asia-based outbound cross-border investors in structuring, implementing, and managing equity and debt investments into the United States, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
With more than twenty years’ experience living and working in Asia, Joel has structured, documented, and implemented a number landmark transactions and investment programs in the region, including the first rating agency rated commercial mortgaged-backed securities transaction in Japan, the first non-performing loan securitization transactions completed in Japan and in South Korea, the first comingled USD/RMB real estate fund sponsored by a Chinese financial institution and the first international style non-recourse real estate loans by financial institutions in both Japan and China.
Joel and his team advise regularly clients on:

A New York native currently residing in Tokyo, in addition to practicing law, Joel is also an architect and urban designer whose work prior to becoming an attorney included numerous architecture and urban design projects around the world, from Cartagena, Colombia, South America to New York City.
Joel frequently writes and lectures on real estate law and finance as we all as on urban design and development. Joel has been a guest lecturer at Harvard University, Georgetown University and Peking University, and an adjunct professor in the real estate program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
Kazunari Yaguchi is a Senior Managing Director, Head of Real Estate Investment Department of Japan Post Bank. He is responsible for all real estate related investments across the globe by the bank. He joined Japan Post Bank in March 2016 and established its Real Estate Investment from scratch. He has built the team of 18 members in the bank, and defined the investment strategy and process. The bank invests sizable capital in all 4 quadrants composed of public-private and equity-debt. The real estate AUM is now ¥4.0 trillion and its performance has been better than the market average.
Kazunari has over 24 years of experience in real estate space in both equity and debt investments. Prior to Japan Post Bank, he was an executive director responsible for real estate investment in the Asset Finance Department of Development Bank of Japan (“DBJ”). He received LLB Law from Tohoku University, Japan, and Masters in Finance from London Business School, UK. He is a CFA and CAIA charterholder and holds the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
