Charles Haase

Charles Haase is Chief Executive of ANREV, the Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles. ANREV is a member driven non-profit organization producing research and indices relevant to the private real estate industry in Asia Pacific, and promoting improved transparency and best practices across the region.

Prior to joining ANREV, Charlie had experience on both sides of the investment table, working for Aetos Japan and Tokyu Fudosan Holdings Corporation in Tokyo, and for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System in the United States. Prior to joining CalSTRS, Charlie was on the Economics faculty of San Francisco State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.

Tjarko Edzes

Scape

As Chief Capital Officer and member of the Scape Corporate Executive Team, Tjarko is responsible for global investor relations, capital raising, new business, funds strategy and management. Scape is Australia’s largest rental housing owner and operator, managing 44 assets (~ 24,000 apartments) across PBSA and BTR. Tjarko is a member of the ANREV Manager Advisory Council.
Prior to joining Scape, Tjarko had experience with Bouwinvest (Head of APAC) and CBRE IM (Head of Transactions Europe), as well as roles at ING RE and Unibail-Rodamco.

Tjarko holds both a Master of Law and Master of Business.

Wei Ting Leong
Investment Director
Grosvenor Diversified Property Investments

As Investment Director, Wei-Ting Leong (Ting) is the responsible for new investments and the identification of specialist third party real estate investment managers within Grosvenor’s Diversified Property Investments (DPI) business. DPI diversifies Grosvenor’s property portfolio by investing in joint ventures and funds with like-minded partners in regions, sectors and investment types that are beyond the focus of Grosvenor’s regional operating companies. Since its first partnership in 2012, the business has committed over £1bn in equity to its partners across five continents and in a broad range of sectors including industrial and logistics, student accommodation, life sciences, healthcare, residential and offices.
 
Prior to her role with DPI, Ting joined Grosvenor Property Americas in 2014 in the Structured Development Financing team originating mezzanine and preferred equity opportunities, and later covering development and portfolio analytics for Grosvenor Property America’s four markets (Vancouver, Calgary, San Francisco, and Washington DC). Ting holds a Bachelors of Commerce from the University of British Columbia with a dual specialisation in Finance and Real Estate and was the 2014 winner of the Cornell International Real Estate Competition.

Bernhard Karas
 Managing Director, Private Capital Markets

Bernhard has 24 years of financial services industry experience and has dedicated a substantial part of his career to advising leading real estate companies and fund managers on the formation of private equity vehicles and raising capital from global institutional investors. Bernhard has been actively involved in the origination and execution of real estate private equity advisory transactions and capital raising mandates of more than US$10 billion. ​

Prior to joining CapitaLand, Bernhard spent five years with DWS Group based in Hong Kong leading the alternatives coverage specialists function in Asia ex-Japan. Prior to that, Bernhard was a director in the capital markets group of Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong where he was responsible for building and leading the indirect investment and private equity advisory function in the Asia Pacific Region. Before that, Bernhard spent nine years with M3 Capital Partners where he was instrumental in developing the firm’s institutional investor relationships initially in Europe and subsequently in Asia after relocating from London to Hong Kong in April 2009. Bernhard started his career in investment banking in the late 1990s with Lehman Brothers in London. ​​

Bernhard holds a Masters's Degree in Social and Economic Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.​
