Speakers
Mr. Ohigashi is responsible for primary real estate research, economic and investment analysis, property forecasts, input into Jones Lang LaSalle market monitoring publications, and contributions and commentaries on issues relating to Japanese market. His penchant for numerical analysis gives a deep insight to the market overview.
Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle in 2007, he worked in an investment division engaging in financial research work for listed companies in both US and Japanese security markets and managing the companies' portfolio. He also has three-year experience in a US real estate market in Boston and New York as licensed real estate broker.
Mr. Ohigashi co-authored the "International Investment Asia - Market, Practice and Transparency" (Keio Univesrsity Press) and contributed in Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Overseas Investor Survey 2020.
Mr. Ohigashi holds a Master of Sciences in Administrative Studies, Major in Financial Economic from Boston University and a Bachelor of Social Science from Ritsumeikan University.
Shai is the co-lead of JLL's Japan Capital Markets - International team where he covers the firm’s strategic clients and international institutions investing in, or looking to invest in Japan.
Prior to that, Shai was a Senior Vice President at GENKAI Capital Management- a Japanese Asset and Fund Management Firm where he was investing throughout the capital stack in commercial real estate in Japan, South Asia and the US.
Shai Started his real estate career at a New York Investment Bank where he was involved in, well over, 12$US Billion in CRE debt and equity transactions.
Upon returning to Japan, Shai joined global advisory firm where he pursued tenant representation, land acquisitions, equity raise, portfolio management and investment sales opportunities.
In addition, Shai is an adjunct professor at Temple University and previously at New York University.
Shai is PhD candidate at Tokyo City University and holds a master’s degree in real estate finance & Investment from New York University and a BA in Management & East Asian Studies (graduated Magna Cum Laude) from Tel Aviv University.
Shai is a New York licensed real estate salesperson (inactive).
From 2017 to 2022, Mr. Tajima was the President & CEO of Kenedix Real Estate Fund Management, Inc. After joining the Kenedix Group in 2005, Mr. Tajima was responsible for REIT financing and investor relations. He was appointed the Head of Corporate Planning Department of Kenedix, Inc. in 2012 and Director & CFO in 2015. Prior to joining Kenedix, he worked at the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited and Sumitomo Life Insurance Company, where he gained extensive securitization experience.
Seiko Ikeda is Head of M&G Real Estate Japan. Seiko first joined M&G in June 2016 as part of the acquisitions team based in Singapore, and relocated to Japan in 2018 to lead the local acquisition team as Director of Acquisitions, prior to taking on her current role since 2022.
Seiko has over 25 years of experience in Real Estate, Finance and Management Consulting. Prior to joining M&G, she was Director of Business Development at GE Capital Real Estate, where she lead the launching of Investment Management business and also the business disposition of GE Capital Real Estate in 2015. Also she served as the Project Manager at Roland Berger, a German management consulting firm, and developed corporate strategies for various industries. She started her career in Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation engaging in M&A advisory and corporate finance.
Seiko earned a Bachelor of Laws and International Relations from Keio University, Japan.
Kiyomasa Matsuda is Director and Country Manager for Japan. He is responsible for managing AEW’s day-to-day business activities in Japan.
His real estate investment career spans nearly 20 years in Japan covering multiple asset classes and strategies. Prior to joining AEW, he was an Executive Director at Orion Partners where he was principally responsible for Orion’s investments in Japanese Senior Housing.
Prior to joining Orion Partners in 2010, Mr. Matsuda held positions at CBRE Global Investors and Macquarie Group where he was in charge of acquisitions.
He is a graduate of Keio University, where he earned a B.A. in business, and Rice University, where he earned an MBA. He qualified for the U.S. CPA designation and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker.
