Eliza Bailey is one of the Founders and Managing Principals and the CEO & CIO of Belay Investment Group and oversees all aspects of Belay’s business activities, investment strategy and execution, in addition to interfacing with investors and operator partners, capital formation, and overall business development and strategy. Ms. Bailey is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.

Ms. Bailey has over 26 years of experience in the real estate industry, investing directly in real estate assets, selecting emerging managers and asset managing investment portfolios. Prior to becoming a partner at Belay Investment Group, Ms. Bailey was a Managing Director at Partners Group where she built a global real estate debt practice that invested over $2 billion of capital during her tenure from 2007 to 2014.

Ms. Bailey also served as the chief underwriter and acquisition officer for over $500 million of global direct equity and debt real estate investments across various property types. Additionally, Ms. Bailey was a member of the Real Estate Investment Committee at Partners Group, where she participated in the due diligence and investment process of over $3.5 billion in investment activity. During her time at Pension Consulting Alliance from 2002 to 2007, Ms. Bailey was a portfolio manager for large institutional clients where she oversaw portfolio construction, monitored performance, and conducted in-depth due diligence on investment opportunities across all risk profiles, global geographies, property types and investment structures. Ms. Bailey started her real estate career as the founder of Property Solutions Enterprises, a private investment business focusing on residential real estate where she structured investment opportunities, completed property level due diligence, created expansive fee and revenue models, and conducted market research. 
 

Ms. Bailey received both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Business Administration in Finance and Management from the University of Oregon. She is also a member of The Real Estate Roundtable.

Barry Chase is one of the Founders and is currently the Executive Chairman of Belay Investment Group.  He has more than 42 years of institutional real estate investment experience. Prior to becoming a partner at Belay Investment Group, Mr. Chase founded AVP Advisors, LLC in 2004.  Mr. Chase has also held senior executive positions at Koll Development, Cushman Realty Corporation and CT Realty. 

Over his career, Mr. Chase has directed more than $3.5 billion in commercial real estate transactions through multiple market cycles. Over the past 42 years, Mr. Chase has been involved in all aspects of the real estate value chain, including investment management services, deal origination, acquisitions/dispositions, asset management, leasing, management of development activities, debt restructuring, and management and repositioning of venture capital corporate-level investments.

Mr. Chase earned his J.D. from the University of San Fernando and is a member of the California State Bar Association (inactive).

Michael Zito is involved in all aspects of Belay Investment Group’s investment activities, focusing on sourcing and evaluating new investments, investment execution, and asset and portfolio management.  Mr. Zito has over 21 years of capital markets and private equity investment experience. 

Prior to joining Belay, Mr. Zito led the growth of Aulder Capital, a real estate operating and investment management business, as its Founding Managing Partner and CEO. During his time with Aulder, he increased AUM from $18 million to $500 million and strategically expanded the platform across multiple asset types and geographies nationally. Mr. Zito was also instrumental in developing the firms’ social impact and community initiatives.  Prior to this, Mr. Zito headed the Direct Americas Real Estate Team at Partners Group, a global investment management firm where he underwrote and closed over $500 million of investments.  His team was charged with identifying, structuring, and executing debt / equity real estate transactions throughout North and South America. Prior to this, Mr. Zito held the role of Vice President at Lehman Brothers in their Principal Transactions Group, where he originated, structured, and underwrote over $6.5 billion of first mortgage, mezzanine, and equity real estate investments. Spanning his career, he has invested in transactions across multifamily, office, for-sale residential, hospitality, retail and industrial asset types. 

Mr. Zito received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
