ANREV is pleased to invite you to a briefing in Melbourne for the launch of our Investment Intentions Survey 2023.
The 2023 ANREV/INREV/PREA Investment Intentions survey covers allocations and investment intentions of major institutional investors and funds of funds managers. Ms. Amélie Delaunay, ANREV's Director of Research & Professional Standards will share with us the key highlights of the survey followed by a panel discussion.
The presentation of the survey highlights and panel discussion will be following the presentation of the current economic environment by Mr. David Roberts, Global Real Estate Strategist of Macquarie Asset Management.
The events will conclude with networking drinks.

David joined Macquarie in 2017 and leads the Global Real Estate Strategy team in Macquarie Asset Management. David has 15+ years of experience in real estate research and strategy across global property markets and sectors. David joined Macquarie from UBS Asset Management where he was the Head of Real Estate Research & Strategy for Asia Pacific. Prior to that, David worked at Grosvenor as the UK Head of Research based in London.
Amélie Delaunay is the Director of Research and Professional Standards for ANREV, the Asian association for investors in non-listed real estate vehicles where she leads a team of five, responsible for the development and implementation of ANREV’s Research, Market information and Professional Standards programmes in Asia Pacific, including ANREV indices, global surveys and promotion of best practices for the industry.
Amélie has more than 19 years of experience in the real estate industry and a strong real estate consulting background initially with Ernst & Young. She has been based in Asia for more than 16 years.
Educated at the Sorbonne in Paris, where she was awarded a post graduate degree in Urban Geography, Town Planning and Real Estate, Amélie also has an Advanced Master's Degree in Urban and Real Estate Management from ESSEC Business School in Paris. Amélie is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Spiros is responsible for the implementation of the fund’s investment strategy for the property asset class. Spiros has been at Hostplus since December 2012 and has over 19 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Hostplus he worked at Lend Lease in a product development role within their Investment Management division. His previous experience includes working in an investments role with Macquarie Bank and property advisory roles with NAB and PwC. Spiros has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) from the University of Melbourne. Spiros is also a CFA charter holder.
Toby is a Senior Portfolio Manager at VFMC (Victorian Funds Management Corporation). VFMC provides investment and funds management services to Victorian state public authorities with total funds managed of approximately AUD70 billion. His role involves the management of investments in an AUD7 billion portfolio of predominantly core unlisted property funds and clubs in Australia, together with a portfolio of real estate debt funds both in Australia and internationally. In this role, Toby sits on advisory boards and investor committees relating to seven funds.
Toby holds a Bachelor of Business (Property) from RMIT University and a Masters in Applied Finance and Investment, as well as being an Associate Member of both the Australian Property Institute and the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Prior to joining VFMC, Toby held positions in capital transactions and valuations at Jones Lang LaSalle.
Since joining KordaMentha in 2005, Tom has gained wide ranging experience in real estate across Australia. This experience traverses geographies, real estate sectors and competencies including transaction management, asset management, asset restructuring and turnaround and complex strategic property reviews. More recently, Tom has also led the establishment of KordaMentha’sinvestment platform which encompasses a commercial property funds manager and a real estate private equity business investing in small to mid-scale development projects.
Tom serves as an Executive Director of KM Property Funds, KordaMentha’scommercial property fund manager.
Sandy Padilla is the APAC Head of Research at CBRE Investment Management, responsible for overseeing the research capabilities of the APAC region's business. She, along with the team she manages, provides thought leadership, advises on fund strategy and supports investment teams in asset selection.
Sandy, who is based in Melbourne, previously served as a Senior Director within the APAC Research team, with a focus on Pacific markets. Sandy joined CBRE Investment Management in 2010 in Los Angeles, where she served as a Director in the Global Research team. Subsequent to her role in Global Research, she served on the Portfolio Team for one of the firm’s U.S. open-end core funds and was based in New York. Prior to joining CBRE Investment Management, Sandy was an Associate at AIG Global Real Estate in New York and has been involved in various capacities in real estate research since 2001.
Sandy holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Urban Planning from Columbia University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Stanford University and was a Fulbright Scholar in Spain. While at Columbia Business School, she completed international business study tours in China and India.
