Moderator and panelists
Amélie Delaunay is the Director of Research and Professional Standards for ANREV, the Asian association for investors in non-listed real estate vehicles where she leads a team of five, responsible for the development and implementation of ANREV’s Research, Market information and Professional Standards programmes in Asia Pacific, including ANREV indices, global surveys and promotion of best practices for the industry.
Amélie has more than 19 years of experience in the real estate industry and a strong real estate consulting background initially with Ernst & Young. She has been based in Asia for more than 16 years.
Educated at the Sorbonne in Paris, where she was awarded a post graduate degree in Urban Geography, Town Planning and Real Estate, Amélie also has an Advanced Master's Degree in Urban and Real Estate Management from ESSEC Business School in Paris. Amélie is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Mr. Arjun Pandit is a Managing Director at CapitaLand Investment Management and is responsible for managing all aspects of the real estate private debt funds business of the Group.
Mr. Pandit is one of the most experienced commercial real estate professional in Asia Pacific with a consistent track record over 18 years in establishing, running and managing businesses related to commercial mortgage and asset backed lending, hard assets investing, real estate operating platforms and distressed debt investment platforms across the breadth of asset classes over business cycles. Over this period, Mr. Pandit has participated in over $20 billion of real estate related transactions, including some of the largest commercial real estate financings in the region.
Prior to CapitaLand, Mr. Pandit was the head of the Asia Pacific asset finance group at Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for managing the lending platform across the region with a primary focus on Australia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Thailand and India. Under his leadership, the bank commenced, for the first time post global financial crises, non-recourse real estate lending activities in Asia Pacific. Mr. Pandit was also a member of the bank’s Asia Pacific asset finance capital commitments committee.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Pandit was the Asia Pacific head of global mortgages and securitized products at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was in-charge of managing commercial and residential mortgage platforms in Japan, Korea and Australia, and also led some of the largest buyout related financing transactions in the region.
Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Mr. Pandit was one of the key members of Morgan Stanley’s Asia Pacific commercial real estate mezzanine lending team, where he was involved in some of the largest financing transactions in Japan and Australia. Mr. Pandit started his real estate career in Asia Pacific, post Asian financial crisis, at Lehman Brother’s principal transaction team based in Japan. He was one of the early members of a business platform that went on to establish itself as one of the leading distressed debt and real estate investment platforms in the region.
Mr. Pandit received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Delhi in India and a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales in Australia.
Michael has almost 40 years’ experience in all facets of real estate including non-bank real estate lending, real estate investment, funds management and construction.
Prior to founding Madigan Capital in 2016, Michael co-founded Quadrant Real Estate Advisors (QREA) focused on private placement of real estate debt investments in Australia, Europe and North America. Michael was a Board Member, Executive Vice President and one of four Executive Vice Presidents of the Global Investment Committee of QREA. Over his 10 years QREA invested in excess of USD11bn of client capital across multiple geographies.
Prior to QREA, Michael was Group Executive at Lendlease Corporation for more than a decade. During this period he held various roles in Australia, the United States and Singapore.
Henri Vuong is an executive director at PGIM Real Estate and member of the global Investment Research team. Based in London, Henri is responsible for leading and developing debt investment research on global real estate markets, providing input into the portfolio, asset management, acquisitions and marketing efforts of the regional businesses, as well as supporting the business to form and articulate debt investment strategies and opportunities.
Previously, Henri was director of Research and Market Information at INREV with responsibility for the strategy and execution of its Research and Market Information programme. In this role she launched several performance indices, including the European ODCE Fund Index and the INREV Asset Level Index, and expanded the global reach of the programme to capture global investor flows into private real estate.
There she led an initiative to expand market information on private debt vehicles to improve transparency and comparability across this market.
Prior to INREV she was an associate director at Royal Bank of Scotland, where she was responsible for formulating lending strategies for commercial real estate and developed a real estate appetite model for business origination. Previously she was Senior Research Analyst at PRUPIM (now M&G Real Estate) where she led the conceptual development of PRUPIM’s portfolio and asset risk integrated system.
Henri has a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computing, Operational Research and Economics (SCORE) and a master’s degree in Statistics from University College London.
Based in Hong Kong, Albert is responsible for the commercial property backed lending business of the bank.
With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Albert is regarded as one of the leading bankers in the region in the origination, structuring and syndication of commercial real estate debt. His experience spans across a breadth of asset classes and instruments including asset backed securities, syndicated loans, acquisition bridges, subordinated debt and private credit transactions.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Albert was a key member in Macquarie’s real estate funds management platform during its inception in Asia, and held a senior position in its advisory business, with responsibility for sourcing and structuring real estate and infrastructure debt for its clients.
Albert started his professional career as a finance lawyer at Clifford Chance, with a focus on securitisation and structured finance.
Albert has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales in Australia, and completed his Certificate of Real Estate Investment Finance with the APREA Institute in Hong Kong.
Justin Curlow is Global Head of Research & Strategy at AXA IM Alts. His team is responsible for applying the firm’s 360-degree approach to real asset research with the principle aim of improving the investment decision-making process. Justin is a member of the Strategic Investment Committee and allocation committees for various funds managed by AXA IM Alts
In his most recent role, as an Investment Strategist, Justin was the dedicated strategist for core direct property, CRE debt and flexible property funds. Justin joined AXA IM - Real Assets in 2011 having spent 6 years working for Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (RREEF).
