The webinar will commence with a higher level update of the APAC macro economy including transaction volumes, borrowing costs and forecast returns, before drilling down into the distinct impacts facing Korean and Australian real estate markets exploring pricing, occupancy and capital markets, and what investors could expect.

Presenters Bios
Christopher joined DWS in 2016 with 26 years of industry experience. In his current position, he is responsible for the further expansion of the Korean real estate and Alternatives platform applying his deep local knowledge and expertise in cross-border transactions. Prior to joining DWS, Christopher served as Representative Director and Head of Korea at Orion Partners (now Aberdeen Standard Investments), where he was responsible for the firm’s commercial real estate funds. Prior to that, he was a Managing Partner at Ikogest Asia, where he established a platform for Korean institutions to invest in transparent overseas markets following the Global Financial Crisis. Before that, he was Regional Director at LaSalle Investment Management, where he helped establish the firm's Asia platform in Singapore. He then founded and led LaSalle Investment Management's Korea office and served as its Representative Director and CEO. Earlier in his career, Christopher acquired and developed significant office, retail and residential properties throughout the United States, on behalf of major Asian investors following the U.S. Savings & Loan Crisis.
Christopher holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University.
Koichiro (Ko) joined DWS in 2007 with 12 years of industry experience. He currently oversees the research teams that support the firm’s real estate investment process in the region, providing in-depth knowledge and unique perspectives on the markets, trends and landscape for real estate investing. Prior to joining DWS, Koichiro served as Head of Real Estate and Construction within Corporate Research at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in Tokyo. Previously, he was a Senior Research Analyst at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in London.
Koichiro holds a BA in Economics from University of Tokyo.
James joined DWS in 2017 with 13 years of industry experience. He is responsible for the strategic growth of DWS’s real estate footprint in Australia and New Zealand with oversight of transactional activities, asset management activities and personnel. Prior to joining, James worked in Real Estate Private Equity at Blackstone. Before that, he worked in a variety of real estate investment and management positions at Colonial First State Global Asset Management and LaSalle Investment Management. James began his career at PwC in the Assurance & Advisory division.
James holds a BCom in Finance & Accounting and BBusMan in International Business from The University of Queensland; has completed the Real Estate Management Program from Harvard Business School.
